During their phenomenal Google Cloud Next Event, Google revealed a host of new features and updates intended to make their already highly-popular cloud service more attractive to customers from an enterprise background. The recent additions were designed to boost security, create a team-oriented environment for working, and of course, provide more flexibility in the way you access Google tools.
Google Drive Enterprise is the cloud storage solution for companies who want to access all the power of Google storage, without having to necessarily pay for any additional features on the G-Suite. Rather than providing a price based on a subscription to the entire Google G-Suite portfolio, the Drive Enterprise price is based on how much data space you use each month.
According to the Enterprise Cloud announcement at Cloud Next, the new service is intended to help larger businesses make the move to the cloud quickly and seamlessly. Google hopes that eventually, enterprise customers will want to make the move to the fully-fledged G-Suite offering. However, if you're uncomfortable with a full cloud migration straight away, the Drive Enterprise could be a great place to start dipping your toes into the water.
Enterprise-Grade Content Management
Google drive is an unlimited cloud-based environment ideal for storing files, videos, documents, and other vital data for your business. You can save your folders and files in Drive, access them from any device of your choosing, and share them across the enterprise with ease. What's more, because all of your information will be stored on the cloud, there's no need to worry about running out of disk space.
The Google Drive Enterprise standalone service will allow you to save information in the cloud as a fantastic backup solution (perfect for keeping your data preserved in case of an outage or issue in the workplace). What's more, everyone in your team can access the information they need instantly. The main difference between Drive Enterprise and the Google Drive solution that comes as part of G-Suite is the pricing. You'll pay $8 per user per month and an extra $0.04 per GB of data per month.
For that, you'll get:
- Zero storage limits
- Access to Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides
- Privacy Shield certification
- Data processing support
- 24/7 email and phone support
- Google's award-winning privacy, security and compliance controls
- Company-wide user management solutions
- Centralized admin console
- Reporting and auditing features
- Vault for eDiscovery
- Data loss prevention
