Google Introduces Interactive Dynamic Emails

We've seen plenty of exciting updates appearing in G-Suite lately, including the arrival of new more secure solutions for companies that want to send private emails over Gmail. However, the innovations are far from over. As Google continues to strive for new opportunities to outshine Microsoft Office 365, we're sure to see countless new deliveries on the horizon.

One of the most recent changes that customers can expect to see when they log into their Gmail inboxes in the months to come, is the arrival of new, more interactive messages. Back in the spring of this year (March 2019), Google announced that it would soon be rolling out support for dynamic emails. This dynamic email environment will allow for live updates, so you don't need to constantly deal with endless new messages in your inbox.

With dynamic emails, you can take actions and respond to people directly within the Gmail interface, without having to click on and go into an email thread. The new interactive messages are based on AMP and will be available for all G-Suite customers by the end of July.

What Can You Do With Dynamic Emails?

If you're still wondering what dynamic emails can really do for your G-Suite experience, it all comes down to greater convenience and usability. With dynamic email, you'll be able to interact with questionnaires, RSVPs, and catalogues directly within your Gmail message. There's no need to click and visit another website before you can get started.

That might not seem like it will save you a lot of time, but when it comes down to it, every second counts in today's fast-paced business environment. For enterprise customers, the key use case for dynamic emails will come in the ability to manage Google docs comments from within your Gmail interface. Rather than receiving individual notifications whenever you're mentioned in a comment on Google Docs, you'll simply receive an up-to-date thread in Gmail that allows you to quickly and easily reply to comments. You can also click on "Resolve" to get rid of the comment from within your Gmail messages.

As employees continue to search for a more seamless workflow environment to help them boost their productivity levels, an email inbox that allows you to get things done without switching to another webpage will become a hugely beneficial solution.

Who Can Access Dynamic Emails?

For now, all the benefits and opportunities of Dynamic Emails through Gmail are still limited to customers using G-Suite on desktop applications. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that you won't be able to look forward to dynamic emails on your phone soon too. As Google continues to invest in new and more advanced solutions for user productivity, there's a good chance that mobile functionality will be on its way sooner than you'd think.

Google's team has noted that mobile functionality is "Coming Soon", although for now we don't have any official date on when mobile access will be around. Yahoo Mail, and Microsoft Outlook, alongside a range of other email hosting companies have also announced their upcoming support for the Dynamic Email feature.

Aside from giving you more freedom when it comes to commenting and dealing with comments on Google Docs, there are also other benefits to the new interactive email format. Users will also be able to manage and deal with dynamic content delivered from companies like Pinterest, Freshworks, Booking.com and a range of other partners too. Don't worry though, Google is taking steps to make sure that not just anyone can sign up with a comprehensive registration program

Making Email More Interactive

The new dynamic email format is based on the Accelerate Mobile Pages standard - or AMP as most people know it. This feature began rolling out to consumer accounts in March, but from the 2nd of July, dynamic email became generally available for all domains, and all G-Suite editions by default.

Administrators will be able to enable dynamic email for their users immediately in Beta mode. Alternatively, if you don't think that your users will want to access this feature, you can also turn it off for certain people individually by going into the Settings menu and clicking on "Dynamic Email". This will allow you to switch back to static email.
